Itinerary
Your Himalayan adventure begins as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where a representative from Pathil Holidays will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to your hotel.
After checking in, take time to relax following your international journey or explore the vibrant streets surrounding Thamel, Kathmandu's popular tourist district. Browse local handicraft shops, enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this historic Himalayan capital.
In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a detailed pre-departure briefing covering the route, weather conditions, altitude awareness, equipment, permits, and safety procedures. This is also an excellent opportunity to ask questions and ensure you're fully prepared for the adventure ahead.
Overnight: Hotel in Kathmandu
Rise early for an unforgettable mountain flight to Lukla, widely regarded as one of the world's most spectacular aviation experiences. As the aircraft weaves through the Himalayan landscape, enjoy breathtaking aerial views of rolling hills, deep valleys, and snow-capped peaks before landing at the famous Tenzing-Hillary Airport.
After meeting your porters and making final preparations, begin your trek through picturesque Sherpa settlements, colourful prayer flags, spinning prayer wheels, and suspension bridges crossing the Dudh Koshi River.
Today's walk is intentionally gentle, allowing your body to gradually adjust to the increasing altitude while introducing you to the culture and landscapes that define the Everest region.
Walking: 3–4 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Phakding
Following the emerald waters of the Dudh Koshi River, today's trail crosses several iconic suspension bridges adorned with fluttering prayer flags before entering the UNESCO-listed Sagarmatha National Park.
The gradual ascent soon becomes more challenging as the trail climbs steadily towards Namche Bazaar. Along the way, weather permitting, you'll catch your very first glimpse of Mount Everest—a truly unforgettable milestone for every trekker.
Nestled within a natural mountain amphitheatre, Namche Bazaar serves as the commercial and cultural heart of the Khumbu region. Here you'll find lively cafés, traditional markets, mountaineering shops, and stunning Himalayan scenery that perfectly rewards the day's efforts.
Walking: 6–7 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Namche Bazaar
Acclimatization is one of the most important aspects of high-altitude trekking, and today's itinerary follows the internationally recommended principle of "climb high, sleep low."
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic hike towards the renowned Everest View Hotel, offering one of the earliest panoramic viewpoints of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and neighbouring Himalayan giants. The spectacular scenery makes today's short climb one of the most rewarding acclimatization walks in Nepal.
Return to Namche Bazaar in the afternoon and spend your free time exploring the Sherpa Culture Museum, local monasteries, traditional bakeries, or interacting with fellow trekkers from around the world.
Walking: 3–4 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Namche Bazaar
Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, today's trail follows one of the most scenic ridgelines in the Everest region, rewarding you with continuous panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, and Nuptse.
After descending to the Dudh Koshi River, cross another impressive suspension bridge before beginning the steady forest climb to Tengboche. Surrounded by rhododendron forests and towering peaks, Tengboche is home to the region's largest and most significant Buddhist monastery.
If fortunate, you may witness monks performing traditional prayer ceremonies, adding a deeply spiritual dimension to your Himalayan journey.
Walking: 5–6 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Tengboche
Begin the morning surrounded by peaceful Himalayan scenery before descending through alpine forests towards Debuche and crossing the Imja Khola River.
As you continue through Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region, the landscape gradually transforms into rugged alpine terrain with fewer trees and increasingly dramatic mountain vistas.
Upon reaching Dingboche, you'll notice the thinner mountain air and spectacular surroundings. Encircled by towering peaks, this beautiful Himalayan village offers a perfect setting to rest and prepare for higher elevations in the days ahead.
Walking: 5–6 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Dingboche
Today's second acclimatization day is essential for adapting safely to the altitude before entering the higher Himalayan environment.
Take a gradual hike to Nagarjun Hill or another nearby viewpoint, where breathtaking panoramas of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Island Peak, Lhotse, and the Imja Valley unfold before you. The higher you climb today, the more rewarding tomorrow's trek will become.
Spend the remainder of the day resting, enjoying warm meals, and taking in the peaceful atmosphere of one of Nepal's most beautiful mountain villages.
Walking: 3–4 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Dingboche
Today's journey leads deeper into the high Himalayas as vegetation becomes increasingly sparse and the landscape takes on a dramatic alpine character.
Pass the memorial site at Thukla, where beautifully built stone monuments honour climbers and Sherpas who lost their lives on Everest. This emotional stop serves as a powerful reminder of the mountain's beauty and immense respect it commands.
Continue gradually towards Lobuche while magnificent glaciers, rocky ridges, and towering Himalayan peaks surround the trail from every direction.
Walking: 5–6 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Lobuche
Today marks the achievement you've been working towards.
Following the Khumbu Glacier, trek across rugged moraine trails before arriving at Gorakshep, the final settlement before Everest Base Camp. After a short rest, continue the unforgettable journey to Everest Base Camp itself.
Standing beneath the mighty Khumbu Icefall, surrounded by the world's highest mountains, is a moment that words can hardly describe. Depending on the season, colourful expedition tents may fill the base camp as climbers prepare for their summit attempts.
Capture photographs, celebrate your achievement, and embrace the extraordinary feeling of reaching one of the world's most iconic destinations before returning to Gorakshep for the night.
Walking: 7–8 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Gorakshep
Before dawn, begin the challenging climb to Kala Patthar, widely considered the finest viewpoint of Mount Everest.
As the first rays of sunlight illuminate Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and the surrounding Himalayan giants, you'll witness one of the most breathtaking mountain panoramas anywhere on Earth—a reward that makes every step of the journey worthwhile.
After descending to Gorakshep for breakfast, continue downhill through familiar trails towards Pheriche, where the lower altitude offers a welcome sense of relief after several days above 4,000 metres.
Walking: 7–8 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Pheriche
Retrace your route through Pangboche and Tengboche, enjoying a completely different perspective of the Himalayan landscape as you descend.
Cross suspension bridges once again and follow forested trails back towards Namche Bazaar. With each step, the increasing oxygen levels make walking noticeably easier, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of the Khumbu region.
Celebrate the successful completion of the most demanding section of your adventure with a comfortable evening in Namche.
Walking: 6–7 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Namche Bazaar
Your final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River through familiar villages, forests, and suspension bridges before reaching Lukla.
Although the trail is mostly downhill, today's journey is an opportunity to reflect on everything you've experienced—from your first glimpse of Everest to standing at Base Camp and watching sunrise from Kala Patthar.
In the evening, celebrate with your trekking crew, whose support and local knowledge have helped make this incredible journey possible.
Walking: 6–7 Hours
Overnight: Tea House, Lukla
Weather permitting, board your morning flight back to Kathmandu, once again enjoying spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
After arriving in the capital, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved day at leisure. You may choose to explore Kathmandu's heritage sites, shop for souvenirs, or simply relax after completing one of the world's most legendary trekking adventures.
In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner featuring authentic Nepali cuisine as you celebrate your successful journey to Everest Base Camp.
Overnight: Hotel in Kathmandu
After breakfast, our team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport according to your flight schedule.
